INFILL WORKS (2025)
Stripped of their outer shells, these 3D-printed ceramic pieces reveal the intricate patterns hidden within.
Infill patterns—a pre-programmed setting in 3D printing—are normally concealed beneath the surface of an object. Often complex and visually rich, these internal grids are engineered for strength and efficiency, not aesthetics. They are meant to support and maintain the shape and structure of an object.
These pieces are an exploration of those patterns, where they are exposed as the primary structure. After drawing simple-shaped vessels, the outer shell has been removed, and different types of infills are left standing. While in plastic they print with machine-like precision, clay introduces softness, weight, and unpredictability.
Exhibited during 3daysofdesign 2025 (18-20 June). Functional Clay by Peach Corner at Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Studio, Copenhagen.
